Our mission is to inspire and support the construction industry to make better and more collaborative decisions.
Our vision is a diverse and inclusive construction industry that embraces collaboration in the decision making process to innovate and improve the industry's impact on society now and for future generations.
We founded CollabDecisions in 20218; it was clear to us that decision-making in the construction industry needed improvement. We believe in a collaborative, transparent, and inclusive approach to construction management. We are actively involved in teaching and coaching project teams to make decisions for the design and construction of projects in diverse areas.
We have researched and tested decision-making methods and processes and endorse several lean methods, but we focus on Choosing By Advantages (CBA).
Choosing by Advantages (CBA) provides a clear, logical framework for making better decisions—efficiently, transparently, and aligned with lean thinking. Teams that systematically use CBA significantly reduce negative design iterations, saving time and money for the owner while minimizing frustration. They align on what truly matters, gain a shared understanding of project decisions, and discover innovative design and construction solutions.
Decision-making shapes the future of our societies, and the future of construction depends on how we collaborate, innovate, and make decisions.
As projects grow in complexity, the need for transparent, structured, and value-driven decision-making becomes essential, and the construction industry faces increasing pressure to deliver faster, more sustainably, and with fewer resources.
Choosing by Advantages (CBA), developed by Jim Suhr, is a proven method that aligns with Lean principles. It empowers teams to make better decisions that reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation.
